SURFACE ART INC DI PIETRA SATIN BASKETEWEAVE MOSAIC 2X2 - 12X12
Porcelain mosaic tile with basketweave pattern and satin finish
Selected Color: CALACATTA STONE
Technical Specifications
Construction: Porcelain mosaic composed of marble material. Individual tiles measure 2x2 inches arranged in a basketweave pattern within a 12x12-inch sheet format. Satin finish reduces gloss and light reflection compared to polished surfaces, providing a matte appearance suitable for visual consistency in tiled surfaces.
Material Composition: Porcelain body with marble aggregate. Porcelain provides superior density and lower water absorption compared to ceramic tile, resulting in improved durability and stain resistance.
Application & Performance
Primary Applications: Bathroom wall tile and kitchen backsplash. The 2x2 mosaic format with basketweave pattern provides visual texture and grout line complexity suitable for accent installations.
Performance Characteristics: Porcelain composition offers low water absorption, making it suitable for moisture-prone environments. Satin finish reduces slipping hazard compared to polished finishes. Basketweave pattern requires precise grout line planning and increases installation time compared to larger format tiles.
Limitations: Mosaic format with small individual tiles creates numerous grout lines, increasing maintenance requirements and potential for staining. Not recommended for floor applications subject to heavy foot traffic due to grout line vulnerability.
