Technical Specifications
Material: Natural travertine stone with tumbled finish. Porous limestone-based stone with inherent surface voids and variation typical of travertine.
Construction: Cut from solid travertine blocks. Tumbled edges create rounded profiles suitable for pool coping applications. Stone density approximately 1.6-1.8 g/cm³.
Finish: Tumbled surface provides slip resistance and hides minor wear patterns. Natural color variation and veining present throughout.
Edge Profile: Bullnose or similar rounded edge designed for safe pool perimeter installation. Reduces sharp edges and provides finished appearance at water line.
Application & Performance
Primary Application: Pool and spa coping. Rounded edge profile prevents sharp contact at water line. Tumbled surface provides slip resistance when wet.
Performance Characteristics: Travertine is porous and absorbs water. Freeze-thaw cycles can damage stone in cold climates due to water absorption and expansion. Requires sealing in freeze-prone regions. Natural stone will develop patina over time.
Limitations: Not suitable for high-traffic interior floors. Porous surface requires regular sealing to prevent staining. Acidic substances (chlorine, pool chemicals) can etch surface. Not recommended for areas with harsh freeze-thaw cycles without protective sealing.
