Carrara marble hexagon tiles cut to 2-inch by 2-inch dimensions. Natural stone material quarried from Carrara region, Italy. Honed surface finish reduces light reflection. Construction involves diamond wire saw cutting followed by abrasive honing. Supplied in mesh-mounted sheets for alignment during installation. Density typical of calcite-based marble at 2.7 g/cm³. Water absorption rate 0.1-0.5% by volume. Compressive strength exceeds 100 MPa.
Application & Performance
Suitable for interior wall tile and kitchen backsplash installations. Mesh backing enables precise grouting on vertical surfaces. Honed finish provides slip resistance on walls but limits floor use due to low PEI rating. Performs in low-traffic decorative areas. Requires thin-set mortar adhesion over cement backer board or drywall. Not recommended for exterior or freeze-thaw exposure due to natural stone porosity. Thermal expansion coefficient 0.006 mm/m°C.
